About

Me

Hi! I'm Kristin. I'm glad you're here.

In what seems like a past life, I spent my days reading stories with kids. All day, every day, we worked with letters and words and sounds and comprehension at my little u-shaped desk in the Reading Room at the little elementary school where I worked.

But like any good read, my story has had many plot twists, and my arc has brought me here, with my hands in the mud. I know in my heart that I have always been an artist, and right now I am consciously creating this chapter in my life. I have been a potter for a little more than 5 years, but I have been a storyteller, a teacher, and a creative soul for much much longer than that. I'm grateful for my little studio and the ability to get my hands dirty every day.

The Studio

Deedledoo is a silly name given to our daughter Kenzie when she was little. She is now an adult, and she also has Down syndrome.

When I was little, my parents called me Ladybug. Some fun facts: Ladybugs aren't bugs, but beetles, and they have hidden wings beneath their spotted shell. They are small but mighty creatures. When they gather with other ladybugs, they are called a "bloom."

When I envisioned my dream of a studio where Kenzie and I could create together and make space for community, the connection between that little beetle and my Deedle-girl matched up with a synchronicity that just clicked into place.

We are strong and mighty creatures flying along, creating art, community, and a space to bloom together.

All proceeds from pottery sales on this website are intended to continue this dream, and are used to purchase supplies, equipment, and furthering education for me as I continue to learn all that I can about playing with clay.

Thank you for your support!
